Yesterday afternoon news began spreading about Edena Hines, Morgan Freenman’s granddaughter from his first marriage, saying that she had been murdered late at night outside of her Manhattan apartment.
At the time police had only taken one person into custody without mentioning a name or anything further but it has finally surfaced that the man they took into custody just so happened to be Edena’s current boyfriend.
The man was described as a 30 year old male and was an aspiring rapper. He has now been charged with the murder of Ms. Hines. Hines was rushed to hospital after being stabbed 16 times in the chest but her boyfriend. Neighbors and witnesses recall hearing him shouting bible verses as he plunged the knife into her chest.
Many that witnessed the event told police he began shouting statements such as “Devil, be gone, Jesus and God”, and “God has arisen”. This act, people can only describe as an exorcism, was brutal and a horrible act to witness.
The male was taken to a medical centre after his arrest to see if it was possible that he was mentally ill, something that may come into play later at a trial.
The man’s name has been released as Lamar Davenport and he has now been charged with second-degree murder and will be arraigned later in the day.
