Tanner family friends, your wait is almost over!
The highly anticipated 13-episode spin-off of the enormously popular sitcom Full House, Fuller House, will be available to all Netflix users on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016!
Netflix released a fun little teaser for the new series, which focuses on Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and Kimmy (Andrea Barber) helping DJ (Cameron Bure) raise her three children. DJ is now a veternarian and widow who calls upon her family to help her raise the rebellious 12-year0old Jackson (Michael Champion), neurotic 7-year-old Max (Elias Harger) and her newborn Tommy Jr. (played by twins). Along with Stephanie and Kimmy, Kimmy’s daughter Ramona (Soni Nicole Bringas) will appear to help DJ out, according to Variety.
The teaser shows sets and shots that suggest the Tanners house doesn’t look much different!
Many of the cast mates from the original sitcom such as Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, John Stamos and Lori Loughlin will guest star in certain episodes of the series. Even DJ’s old boyfriend, Steve (Scott Weinger), along with Jesse and Becky’s twin boys, Alex and Nicky (Dylan and Blake Tuomy-Wilhoit) will be on the show.
Unfortunately, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not even guest star on the new spin-off. The girls shared the role of Stephanie and DJ’s sister Michelle on the sitcom from 1987 to 1995. Stamos, who is one of the show’s producers, was “heartbroken” over their decision.
Fuller House comes from Miller-Boyett Productions and Jeff Franklin Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television. Franklin is responsible for creating the series and he, Thomas L. Miller and Robert L. Boyett are executive producers.
Netflix is also hoping to revive Amy Sherman-Palladino’s Gilmore Girls. The story also follows a single mom as well as friends in a small town. If this happens, I would be beyond thrilled. We’ll just wait and see!
