ABC’s Dancing With The Stars Reveals First Contestant

ABC’s hit series Dancing With The Stars is gearing up for another season. The network recently revealed the first contestant to join the troupe. Bindi Irwin, daughter of Terri and Steve Irwin, will be taking to the stage to show off her moves.

This isn’t Irwin’s first time on television. The young Australian made several appearances on her father’s show, slowly growing up in front of the camera.

The 17-year-old conservationist and animal advocate took to social media following the reveal. Irwin stated “I am unbelievable thrilled and truly blessed to be in the City of Angels to be part of this season of Dancing With The Stars. This will be a completely new adventure for me and I’m excited to share my journey. Life is about daring to dream, I’m in love with this city and ready to fall in love with the music and dance to come”. Irwin’s humble persona and youthfulness be a refreshing addition to the show.

Bindi has continued in her father’s footsteps, appearing in conservation and wildlife shows including “Bindi: The Jungle Girl”, “Bindi’s Bootcamp”, and “Steve Irwin’s Wildlife Warriors”. Beyond the listed television shows, she has also starred in various films.

Last season’s winners include Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, and professional dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy. ABC is set to reveal the full list of participants for season 21 on September 2.
