The official trailer for the upcoming comedy sequel Zoolander 2 has set a record for the number of view its racked up since its release on November 18.
Since its debut 10 days ago, the trailer has gained more than 13.8 million views on YouTube, where it was uploaded by Paramount Pictures, according to Immortal News.
Deadline reported that the Zoolander 2 trailer has gathered more views than any other comedy trailer in history. It beat out 22 Jump Street, The Hangover and Anchorman 2. And it took less than two weeks!
The trailer also beat out Dumb and Dumber To for the title of most viewed comedy trailer, which earned 49 million views in only one week.
Zoolander 2, which is coming out more than 14 years after the original, brings back Will Ferrell as evil fashion mogul Mugatu, Owen Wilson as male model Hansel, Christine Taylor as investigative journalist Matilda and Ben Stiller as the world’s top male model, Derek Zoolander. The original cast members will be joined by Kristen Wiig, Justin Bieber, Penelope Cruz and Miley Cyrus.
The new Zoolander movie, which has yet to be rated, is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 12. It was written by Ben Stiller, John Hamburg, Nick Stoller and Justin Theroux. Jeff Mann is executive producing along with Stuart Cornfield. Other producers include Stiller, Clayton Townsend and Scott Rudin.
