Seth MacFarlane does his best Liam Neeson impression on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon!
MacFarlane claimed his fame by voicing almost every character in Family Guy. His animated and versatile voice came in handy during his appearance on The Tonight Show.
He was there to promote his upcoming film Ted 2. The sequel to Ted (a film about a walking, talking, crude mouthed teddy bear) where he starred alongside Mark Wahlberg.
Jimmy was quick to lure the man of many voices into playing “Wheel of Impressions”*, a standard in Jimmy Fallon’s late night routine.
Seth pushed the “random” generator and had to voice Liam Neeson talking about Time Warner Cable. He very quickly managed to pull together a hilarious, spot on impression of the Irish actor. Fans of Neeson will certainly be “taken” with this skit. Here’s a quote from Seth MacFarlane, as Liam Neeson, as Bryan Mills:
“I have a very particular set of channels. If you’d like to purchase these channels, I’ll come to your house and install your cable and that will be the end of it. If you don’t, I will look for you. I will find you. And I will kill you.”
Next up was Jimmy! He got Jerry Seinfeld talking about Uber.
“What’s the deal with Uber?”
Fallon has definitely practiced this one before! His Seinfeld tone and cadence was absolutely perfect!
“You get in someone else’s car and they’re offering you gum and mints. We’re doing everything we were told not to do as children. We’re literally getting into a stranger’s car lured by candy. Have we learned nothing, people?”
Being a HUGE Ray Romano fan, the highlight of the game(for me) was seeing Seth impersonate Ray. He has such a distinctive voice I was unsure he’d be able to mimic it. But after Seth “work(ed) up enough phlegm” it was like watching the Everybody Loves Raymond star! He had him right down to his characteristically awkward/insecure demeanour.
*The game revolves around the ability to mimic other celebrities and perform improv based on randomly drawn topics from an “Impression Generator”. Similar to the Wheel of Musical Impressions they have to do their best impression of the person while talking about the subject selected.
