Upcoming Two-Hour ‘Friends’ Special – NBC

In a two-hour special, the cast of Friends will be reunited on NBC!

NBC announced on a press tour for the Television Critics Association on Wednesday in Pasadena that the cast of Friends will be reuniting! So what’s the special occasion? It is a tribute, which is dedicated to the director of Friends, James Burrows, who recently reached a milestone of 1,000 episodes of television. Burrows is also known for directing Taxi, The Bob Newhart Show and Cheers.

While the two-hour special is about Burrows, having the six original cast members of Friends involved is certainly creating a lot of commotion.

Friends first aired in 1994 and aired for 10 seasons with a strong following right until the end. The special will host Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. The crew has been notoriously difficult to group together since the end of Friends.

Robert Greenblatt is the NBC entertainment chairman and said:

“I’m hoping all six will be in same room at same time, I’m not sure we can logistically can pull it off.”

Fans are hoping right along with Greenblatt! Tune in to NBC Sunday, February 21 to watch.
