Just days after Tracy Morgan’s superb return to Saturday Night Live, the comedian announced his plans for a stand-up tour in 2016 titled “Picking Up the Pieces.”
Morgan shared the news on his Twitter account Tuesday with ticket information and a list of stops on the tour. “Heading back out on the road to bring the funny,” Morgan wrote. “Come see me.”

The tour will kick off at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind. on Feb. 5. Morgan will perform at several casino venues and theaters, including Boston’s Wilbur Theatre on Feb. 20, Conneticut’s Grand Theater at Foxwoods on March 19 and Las Vegas’ Mirage Hotel and Casino May 6-7. The tour will conclude on May 28 in Westhampton Beach, N.Y.
His SNL appearance and his decision to go out on tour are two of his most recent steps toward re-entering the world of comedy. “It’s just like falling off a bike and getting back on, that’s all–you don’t forget where the pedals are,” Morgan said in a Kennedy Center press release. He suffered traumatic injuries when a Walmart truck hit the limo carrying Morgan and four others on the New Jersey Turnpike.
But he is back!
Morgan’s first real return to entertainment was his funny yet emotional appearance at the 2015 Emmy Awards in September. Morgan presented the award for Best Drama Series to Game of Thrones.
Not only did he speak of the accident in which he lost his best friend James McNair, but he also cracked a couple of jokes. “When I finally regained consciousness, I was just ecstatic to learn I wasn’t the one who messed up,” he said, according to Rolling Stone.
He also mentioned his accident in his SNL monologue. “People were wondering, ‘Can he speak? Does he have 100% mental capacity?’ But the truth is I never did,” Morgan joked. “I might actually be a few points higher now.”
