TNT Cancels Proof

TNT has cancelled it’s supernatural drama Proof after one season. The series followed a cardiac surgeon played by Jennifer Beals (Flashdance, The L Word) who is contracted by a dying billionaire to find proof of an afterlife. As she begins to investigate phenomena like hauntings and near death experiences she begins to suspect that something beyond the veil of death is trying to prevent the afterlife’s secrets from being uncovered.

The show ran for ten episodes and drew a pretty respectable audience but it ultimately skewed too old to impress the network. The show also starred Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket, Weeds), David Sutcliffe (Gilmore Girls, Private Practice), Edi Gathegi (The Twilight Saga: New Moon, X-Men: First Class), Joe Morton (Scandal, Eureka), Caroline Rose Kaplan, Callum Blue (The Tudors, The Secret Diary of a Call Girl) and Annie Thurman (Dark Skies, The Hunger Games).
