The Hudson Feud Continues – Bill Speaks Out About Oliver Hudsons Fathers Day Post

Is that dirty laundry I smell? It certainly is! The never ending public feud between Bill Hudson and his estranged family continues.

It appears as though nobody wants the opposing party to get the last word. So Bill Hudson has spoken out against the “father shaming” that his son, Oliver Hudson, took part in this last Fathers Day.

Oliver Hudson, 38, took to Twitter and posted a picture of his biological father (Bill) holding both himself and sister Kate Hudson, 36. The caption on the photo read:

“Happy abandonment day…@KateHudson”

It was a pretty harsh jab, even if there were hurt feelings in the mix, but it wasn’t the first time the family has gone to great lengths to stab at each other. Their strained family life has been very public and the common denominator is always Bill.

Both Kate and Oliver have outwardly expressed on multiple occasions that for all intents and purposes Kurt Russell (their mother’s partner that helped raise them) is their father. He got much kinder words from the Hudson children on Father’s day.

Kate posted an adorable photo of Russell and herself and wrote:

“Pa, just simply…Thank you”

Oliver made a belated post, since he was too busy on Father’s day being negative, calling Russell his “pa” as well.

Now, almost a week after Oliver’s post, Bill is speaking out. There are two sides to every story and it seems both sides want the whole world to listen. The Daily Mail interviewed Bill and as it seems, not only does he not want to mend bridges, but it seems like the bridge may be gone entirely. He said:

“That was like a dagger to the heart. If what he wanted was me out of their lives, then he’s succeeded. I don’t want to see either of my eldest children ever again. It’s over. (…) I say to them now, ‘I set you free. I had five birth children and I now consider myself a father of three. I no longer recognize Oliver and Kate as my own. I would ask them to stop using the Hudson name. They are no longer a part of my life. Oliver’s Instagram post was a malicious, vicious, premeditated attack. He is dead to me now. As is Kate. (…) I am mourning their loss even though they are still walking this earth.”

He also talked in the exclusive interview about the relationship that apparently caused the tension with his children. Talking about his relationship with actress Goldie Hawn, he said:

“When we split up, she never had a bad word to say about me. But when Kurt came on the scene, the narrative changed and I became the big, bad wolf. (…) I would say to her, ‘Goldie, why are you trashing me and saying I’m an absent father when it’s simply not the case?’ And she’d laugh and go, ‘Oh, Bill, you know it makes for a better story.’ (…) Goldie wanted to create this myth of a perfect family with Kurt and she wanted me out. It’s time for the truth to come out.”

We can pick our friends but we can’t pick our family. Some may look at this and say Bill is to blame, but really, they are all adults in this now and there’s nothing honourable about dealing with personal issues in such an immature and public fashion. I think all of them should take the fingers that they have been point at each other with for years and shake hands with them instead.

There doesn’t have to be a relationship, but they should at least call a truce. This isn’t healthy for any of them!
