Starting today you can get Taco Bell delivered right to your home!
As of today, over two hundred Taco Bell restaurants in over ninety cities now have a delivery service. Taco Bell announced that the delivery service has launched starting in Los Angeles, Orange County, the San Francisco Bay Area and certain regions in Dallas. Their ultimate goal is to have delivery be an option nationwide for all of their locations but for now there is no known deadline for that goal.
The fast food chain has partnered up with a startup company called DoorDash. DoorDash is a delivery service that will be working with Taco Bell to make sure you get your food delivered on time and with a smile. You can order on DoorDash’s website or you can use their mobile app which is compatible with iOS and Android. Delivery is available from 10am-11pm for a fee (which varies depending on location).
According to Yum Brands, which owns Taco Bell, the option of delivery has been on their radar for some time. Greg Creed is the CEO of Yum Brands and says that he thinks adding a delivery service will be “a massive sales driver for the brand”.
They aren’t the only company jumping on the delivery band wagon! As of April, Chipotle made a statement saying they will begin offering delivery in sixty-seven locations. Even McDonalds has been experimenting with delivery pilot programs in specific areas in New York!
VP of Innovation for Taco Bell, Tressie Lieberman, stated:
“We’re testing and learning at the speed of the on-demand economy. We’re thrilled to partner with DoorDash and leverage their like-minded commitment to customer service and innovation. This partnership enables us to provide consistent quality service and the feedback we need to elevate the delivery experience and evaluate where Taco Bell delivery goes next.”
