Yesterday, American Idol fans got their first look at the last season of the hit singing competition.
A chapter of my childhood is coming to a close. This year will mark the 15th and final season of American Idol. The farewell season will begin January 7 at 8 p.m. on FOX.
What to expect? More of the same. We’ll see the best host on television, Ryan Seacrest, do his thing one last time. Judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. will all be returning.
Auditions start in Denver and Atlanta and I, for one, am looking forward to the amazing and the awful auditions. I’m looking forward to Jen’s hit and misses with makeup/hair/wardrobe. I’m looking forward to seeing Keith be the cool bad a** country guy. It would have been nice to drop Connick and bring back an original judge for the final season, but alas…it is what it is.
Whoever wins this season will be the counterpart to Kelly Clarkson so fans will have higher expectations than ever for who will be crowed the final American Idol winner.
Don’t forget to dim the lights and tune in for the final premiere Thursday night.
