President Kenyatta Rewards Ebola Volunteers

President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya has announced that the medical professionals who volunteered with the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone and Liberia will be rewarded for their selflessness and service. President Kenyatta has instructed the Ministry of Health to reward volunteers with a job if they were not already permanently employed.

As he pointed out, “the problem with many of us is that we like to mourn instead of solving problems. You shall remain an inspiration to many others” at a breakfast with the volunteers. Kenyatta hopes that the medical volunteers will be able to inspire others in Kenya to rise up to occasions and actively help rather than be part of the rampant slacktivism that is popular all over the world now.
