And he’s back. Maybe.
Game of Thrones has released new teaser art for its sixth season featuring a dark and bloody Jon Snow. It looks like HBO is really giving in to all of the speculation over the fate of Kit Harrington’s character, who died in the fifth season’s finale.
Everyone at HBO, including Harrington and producers, has insisted that Snow really is dead after being stabbed to death “for the Watch,” but many signs have revealed otherwise. First Harrington was spotted at Wimbledon still rocking his Jon Snow curly mane, then he was spotted in costume in Belfast on the GOT set and now he’s on the poster for season six.
If he really is dead, why are they teasing us with this poster? Maybe he’s a ghost? Or maybe we are getting another look into his past or events we missed? There are so many fan theories out there about this out there, but we won’t know the truth until the series premieres next year.
Whether he is dead or not, it seems that his character will remain a key part of the series no matter what.
This is the first marketing piece we’ve seen for the new season, and it is the first confirmation that the series will start back up in April. GOT will start a little later than usual this year (it usually premieres in late March) since HBO switched up its winter series scheduling. No specific date was announced.
Game of Thrones recently killed it at the Emmy Awards and helped HBO break an industry record. The show was named outstanding drama series for the first time.
