According to CBS News, Scott even received the blessing of Amy Jo Jackson, who played the pink ranger in the 1990s TV series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Johnson congratulated Scott via Twitter. “Congrats @NaomiScott you’ll make a GREAT #PinkRanger! Excited to c what @lionsgatemovies & @HaimSaban have in store for YOU #PowerRangers xo,” she wrote.

Scott hasn’t been on the scene for long, but you may recognize her from 2011’s sci-fi series Terra Nova or from the album she released in 2014, Invisible Division. She also appeared in this year’s The Martian alongside Matt Damon. And you will see her with Antonio Banderas in the upcoming film The 33, which depicts the story of the Chilean mining disaster.

This is the first Power Ranger’s name to be released so far. The film, which will hit screens in 2017, is directed by Dean Israelite and follows the team as teens in high school who use their powers to save the world, according to Time.
