Mount Everest Shifts

The earthquake that killed 8,500 people and destroyed thousands of years of historical monuments in Nepal last month also ended up moving Mount Everest. According to Chinese officials, Mount Everest shifted three centimetres southwest after the earthquake on April 25th. This is actually a very big move for Everest considering it has only moved four centimetres annually between 2005 and 2015.

For thrill seekers looking to climb the tallest mountain, they will be happy to know that the quake did not change the height of the mountain.
