“Neville Longbottom! Is that a wand in your underwear or are you just happy to see me?”
“Uh, no professor, that’s… My bulge.”
“100 points to Gryffindor!”
I imagine that’s how the exchange would go after Professor Minerva McGonagall would see Neville Longbottom in his skivvies.
The real-life actor for the clumsy character, Matthew Lewis, was featured on the cover of the most recent issue of “Attitude” magazine, showing his six-pack abs.
While it doesn’t look like McGonagal will chime in, “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling did. She tweeted at Matthew saying “Not as bad as watching Dan in Equus, but close. Warn me next time, for God’s sake.”
She was referencing Daniel Radcliffe’s nude “Equus” performance on Broadway back in 2008, which showed Radcliffe’s wand, as well. In the awkward for Lewis, but absolutely hilarious for us bystanders, encounter, Rowling also gave her support but told him to go put some clothes on.
At least for Rowling, Lewis’ wand was covered by his skivvies. Lewis achieved his new level of athleticism through giving up alcohol for a new film called “Me Before You,” where his triathlete character doesn’t drink alcohol and is on a strict dietary regimen. It seems that it’s helped him shed a few pounds because of giving up all of alcohol’s empty calories. He suggested liking a “pint of lager” to Entertainment Tonight, and suggested that pizza and beer would make a comeback come summertime.
