Justin Bieber cancels Thanksgiving Day Parade appearance and ‘Late Show’ for personal reasons

Sorry Bieber fans, Justin won’t be celebrating Thanksgiving in the Big Apple after all.

The Sorry singer cancelled his appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and his scheduled performance in The Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS.

Sources told Entertainment Tonight that the 21-year-old singer was supposed to shoot his parade performance on Tuesday night in New York City after his slot with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show. However, he canceled both out of the blue for personal reasons.

Though ET reached out to Bieber’s rep for details on the cancellations, they did not get a response. Bieber did tweet about it, though.

“My apologies to @colbertlateshow as I won’t be able to make it to NYC tomorrow for the show,” the What Do You Mean singer wrote Tuesday. “I look forward to making it up to you soon.”

He also tagged Colbert’s personal account in a tweet saying, “@StephenAtHome thank you for the understanding as sometimes life kicks our a** and we need to deal with it. I will see u soon. Thank you.”

Of course, the show must go on. The holiday special, hosted by ET’s Kevin Frazier, will feature parts of the 89th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade along with performances by Broadway productions of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and Jersey Boys.

Other celebrities, such as Kinky Boots star Wayne Brady, model Taylor Hill, The Good Wife’s Renee Elise Goldsberry and George Takei are expected to stop by the parade. The Thanksgiving Day Parade will air live 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET on CBS.

It is not clear whether Bieber’s reasons for cancelling his Thanksgiving appearances will impact his other upcoming appearances. ET did confirm with Dick Clark Productions that, as of now, he is still set to perform on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, which airs on ABC on Dec. 31.
