Tuesday, July 7th IHOP invited us all to join in on their birthday celebrations.
As of today, IHOP has been serving customers delicious food for FIFTY-SEVEN years! It’s hard to believe but their birthday offer confirms it.
Tuesday from 7am-7pm IHOP offered customers a short stack of buttermilk pancakes for the low price of 57 cents!! Al and Jerry Lapin are IHOP’s founders and opened their first restaurant in Toluca Lake, California in 1958. The same short stack of pancakes back then cost sixty cents and to celebrate their 57th birthday today they returned to that price and cut off an additional 3 cents!
The International House of Pancakes also gave their logo a face lift. In celebration of their birthday, they altered their logo to reflect the happiness and joy their company hopes to spread. The “O” and the “P” are now part of a big smiling face. Vice President of Marketing, Kirk Thompson, comments on the change:
“While our beaming new logo perfectly captures our heritage of happiness, our 57th Anniversary celebration takes it a step further celebrating the generosity of others in their endeavors to make those less fortunate smile.”
Well, there are few things I know of that make people happier then super cheap pancakes!
Happy Birthday IHOP and thanks for giving back!
