“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times…if one only remembers to turn on the light” – Albus Dumbledore
For Harry Potter fans, the release of the final film was a dark, bittersweet time. It’s been a while that we’ve been stewing in the dark, but it’s finally time to turn on the light!
Warner Bros announced their new flick – Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. It’s a Harry Potter spin-off that superstar Eddie Redmayne is set to play the lead in.
Redmayne, the Oscar winning British actor, has proved his acting ability and now will get to try his hand at magic! His character in the new film will be Newt Scamander a “magizoologist” who will travel around documenting magical creatures. What is Scamander’s relation to the Harry Potter world? He is the author of the textbook titled “Fantastic Beasts” that is read at Hogwarts school!
It will be the first time that author J.K. Rowling will adapt and write the screenplay herself. David Yates is continuing on as the director in the new film. He’s been a big part of the Harry Potter franchise and doesn’t plan on stepping away any time soon. He’s looking forward to working with Redmayne and announced:
“Eddie is a fearless actor, brimming with invention, wit and humanity. I couldn’t be more excited about the prospect of working with him as we start this new adventure”
The best part about the spin-off is that it will be expanded into three separate films, meaning we get an even more extended experience of the wizarding world – even if it is 70 years before Harry was in it.
The first of the three films is scheduled to be released November 18, 2016. Mark it on your calendars –Happiness is coming and it’s Eddie Redmayne that is turning on the light!
