Golden Globe Winners Announced

The annual Golden Globe Award winners have been revealed, as decided by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The Revenant cleaned up bigtime while The Martian, which the Association baffling classified a comedy, likely becoming the first people ever to do so, won Best Comedy and Best Comedic Actor (Matt Damon), a feat it likely wouldn’t have accomplished if it had been in the drama category like it should have been.

Leonardo DiCaprio won Best Dramatic Actor for his turn in The Revenent, a sentiment that seems to be echoed in early Oscar buzz, which indicated that this may finally be the veteran actor’s year to take home an Academy Award.

In the television arena, Amazon.com’s Mozart in the Jungle pulled off a major upset by winning Best Comedy Series and Best Comedic Actor (Gael Garcia Bernal) over more well-known and popular shows, while Mr Robot continued its winning streak in the drama categories and Lady Gaga won Best Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries for her performance in American Horror Story: Hotel.
