Fugitive Arrested After Killing Police Officer

33 year old Travis Boys has been arrested after he fatally shot Officer Daryle Holloway in his police cruiser and then escaped the cruiser, leaving it to crash into a utility pole. Holloway, 45, had been transporting Boys to the Orleans Paris Prison on charges of aggravated battery when Boys somehow managed to acquire a gun and bring his handcuffed hands to the front.

Police were able to track down Boys when he drove through a New Orleans neighborhood in a stolen pickup truck. Boys will be charged with first-degree murder of a police officer, aggravated escape and illegal possession of a firearm in addition to his aggravated battery charge.

The city of New Orleans sends Holloway’s family love as his three children will not be able to celebrate Father’s Day with him as a result of Boys’ actions.
