Fox Orders Firefighter Comedy Pilot From Ty Burrell

Fox has issued a put pilot commitment to Hosed, a sitcom about fire fighters from actor, producer and Primetime Emmy Award winner Ty Burrell (Modern Family, Dawn of the Dead). For those unaware, a put pilot commitment means that the network has ordered a pilot episode and has made a commitment to air that episode regardless of whether the series gets picked up or not, or else pay a large sum to the production studio, in this case Burrell’s newly minted production house Wedding Punch, which he started in November of last year, and 20th Century Fox TV.

The pilot, and potentially the series, will follow a group of volunteer fire fighters in America’s second rainiest town. It’ll be written by Luvh Rakhe who has previously served as a writer on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and New Girl, the latter of which he also produces. If the pilot is successful then expect to see Hosed in Fox’s 2016 – 2017 television season lineup.
