Emma Watson revealed details of her hard break up for an interview with Vogue U.K. magazine.
The UN Goodwill Ambassador will appear on the cover of the September 2015 issue wearing a beautiful white and gold jacquard Stella McCartney dress. Inside the magazine you’ll be able to read all about Watson’s love life.
She began dating, now ex-boyfriend, Matt Janney back in January 2014. Their breakup took place December of last year and Emma is just now opening up about her emotional rollercoaster. She described the break-up as a “horrendous” time.
Watson, 25, talked to Vogue about the decline of her relationship and her experience at a silent retreat. The silent retreat was a week long program at a private Canadian Rocky Mountains facility. As implied by the name, the retreat required a week long vow of silence. She said:
“I felt really uncomfortable. Even before my relationship ended, I went on a silent retreat because I really wanted to figure out how to be at home with myself.”
The tumultuous time with Janney, an Oxford University rugby player, was not indicative of what her relationships are usually like. She told Vogue:
“The boyfriends or partners I’ve had have generally made me feel really cherished. They’ve built me up. I certainly haven’t found that with doing all that I do or being all that I am, that I’ve struggled in my love life. I just think it’s very patronizing towards men. It undermines them.”
Well Emma Watson continues to prove herself as one of the greatest role models in the public eye for young women
Taking a rough break up and turning it into a self-discovery journey instead of a passive aggressive pop song is refreshing to say the least!
