Elena is over but not Nina!

The season 6 finale of the popular TV drama, The Vampire Diaries, has said it’s goodbyes to lead actress Nina Dobrev. Nina’s character, Elena has come to a dead end. Nina left her fellow cast mates with a bang, or in this case I guess it would be more appropriate to say a ‘splatter’. The cast said goodbye to Nina with an honorary caking, which was later shared on Twitter. In one of the picture Nina is standing next to Ian Somerhalder, ex-costar and ex-boyfriend, also covered in cake. With the picture she tweeted, “But I didn’t go out without putting up a fight…”, “If I was gonna go, I wasn’t going to do it alone. @iansomerhalder.”

This sweet goodbye between costars was not just for that sake of the cameras. Although the couple split in 2013, Nina says they are still very close friends. There has been a lot of tension portrayed in the media about the costars’ split, and the following relationship between Ian and Nikki Reed. The couple recently announced their engagement to which Nina said, ” “When I heard about the wedding, I thought it was beautiful. They look happy and I am happy, and so I don’t see why there should be a problem with that . . . Of course, we’re on a teen drama show, everyone’s going to look for drama. I just ignore it.”

According to Nina Dobrev, she plans on taking a break from the busy acting lifestyle to just ‘chill’. Aside from her famous role in The Vampire Diaries, Nina has acted in many other successful projects. In 2006 she played in Degrassi: Next Generation. In addition to her tv roles she has also starred in Perks of Being a Wallflower(2012) and Let’s be Cops(2014). More recently, she landed a role in the horror-comedy, The Final Girls, which was first released march of this year.

One look at the 26 year old Bulgarian Canadian actress’s career and it is clear she will be fine without the popular teen drama in her life.
