Techland has unveiled the release date for its huge upcoming expansion to open world zombie role playing game Dying Light. Titled The Following, the expansion will launch digitally on February 6, 2016 and feature a brand new map with new story mission and side quests to complete.
The developer also revealed Dying Light: Enhanced Edition (set to release on February 6, 2016), a bundle of the main game, The Following and previously released downloadable content such as The Bozak Horde, Be the Zombie, Cuisine & Cargo and The Ultimate Survivor Bundle, along with a host of technical improvements and gameplay refinements.
“We didn’t want to follow a beaten track and just re-release our game in a new wrapping with the current DLC added on,” said lead game designer Maciej Binkowski. “That’s why for the last half year we’ve been working on a ton of enhancements that we’re now going to make available to everyone. We’re adding bonus post-game content, a Nightmare difficulty level, nearly 100 new animations, new NPC models, advanced AI behaviors, and more. One year after the original release, Dying Light will be even bigger.”
These enhancements will be free to download for anyone who already owns the main game and The Following is included in the game’s season pass. Dying Light: Enhanced Edition will cost US $60. The game in all its variations is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
