Fans who tuned into The X Factor in the U.K. on Sunday, Oct. 18 were probably stunned by what they heard during a commercial break–Adele’s voice. That’s right Adele junkies. It sounds like she’s back in the game!
In the nearly 30-second song video that aired Sunday, viewers heard the what sounded like the British singer’s emotional delivery of a new song over piano keys. The only thing to be seen on the screen was a stream of the new song’s lyrics, which seem to be a bit heartbreaking.
She sings the following lines in the song preview, “Hello /It’s me / I was wondering / if after all these years / you’d like to meet me / To go over everything / They say that time’s supposed to heal ya / But I ain’t done much healing.”
Many who were watching recorded the clip and posted it on social media, Billboard reports.

It has been rumored that Adele’s new album 25 is set to release on Nov. 20. However, Sony Music Entertainment has failed to confirm a release date, and Adele’s publicist did not comment when asked by Billboard.
Not much is known about the follow-up to her amazing sophomore 2011 album 21. However, reports claim that collaborators such as Tobias Jesso Jr., producer/DJ Danger Mouse and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder will appear on the album.
Rumors and buzz about whether it was indeed Adele singing on the clip increased when OneRepublic’s Twitter account tweeted her name with a smiley face on Oct. 18.

Adele has been absent from the music scene since the release of 21, besides recording the 2012 James Bond theme song Skyfall. She had a baby boy with her boyfriend Simon Konecki that same year, and there has been a lot of speculation as to whether the two are still in a relationship. The Grammy winner is known for being an extremely private person and has not confirmed her relationship status or when her album will be revealed to the world.
There’s one thing we can say–fans are ecstatic. How much longer will they have to wait for the beautiful musings of the lovely, gifted Adele? Hopefully she doesn’t keep us waiting too long!
