Derek Zoolander On February Edition Of Vogue

Vogue and Paramount Pictures have teamed up to have Derek Zoolander grace the February cover of Vogue.

Zoolander will not only be on the cover, but he will be interviewed in Vogues iconic 73 questions. The magazine article also features co-star Penelope Cruz in photographs taken by the famous Annie Leibovitz. This is all to celebrate the upcoming Zoolander sequel, of course.

The Vogue piece focuses mainly on Derek Zoolanders striking good looks. He talks about liking New York because:

“You have really good-looking people and also very attractive people.”

He also said that he avoids the subway because:

“Sandwiches are a gateway to cake.”

Derek admits to being fit, but not working out. He said chaffing is the hardest part of modelling and as such he avoids sweating at all costs. He even went so far as to have his sweat glands removed. He admitted:

“Any sweating you see me do is through a surrogate.”

So if he doesn’t work out, how does he stay fit? It’s all about the diet for Derek. When asked about his least favourite food, he responded simply with, “solids”. He said his diet consists of water with added citrus (or cucumber if he’s really hungry).

The first film came out September 28th 2001 and earned $60.8 million worldwide! The second film is set to be released February 12th 2016. With less than a month before Zoolander 2 comes out, the Vogue article will help garner further excitement for fans.

Ben Stiller will be returning as Derek Zoolander, but he has also directed the film, co-wrote the script (with Justin Theroux) and co-produced (with Stuart Cornfeld). So where will the new film pick up? Ben described the film and said:

“It’s ten years later and most of it is set in Europe. It’s basically Derek and Hansel ten years later – though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime. Their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore. It’s a new world for them.”

Seems like the perfect Valentines Day date to me! Head to theaters mid-February to see Zoolander 2.
