‘Daredevil’ season 2 premiere date announced, teaser revealed

Marvel and Daredevil fans, get pumped!

Netflix has announced a premiere date for season 2 of its comic-turned-TV series Marvel’s Daredevil: March 18.

This announcement put away rumors that the show’s return would share a premiere date with Warner Bros. movie Batman v Superman on March 25, according to Variety.

It wouldn’t be Marvel if there wasn’t an awesome teaser, poster and press photos of the second season out there. And based on these materials, it doesn’t look like this show is going away any time soon.

So what’s in store for Daredevil viewers this season?

Several press photos show Charlie Cox’s blinded hero Matt Murdoch in a church, which makes sense because his character is Catholic. But the poster and teaser reference Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel, suggesting there is some definite conflict ahead.

The photos also include first looks new season 2 characters the Punisher (Jon Bernthal; The Wolf of Wall Street, Fury, The Ghost Writer) and Elektra (Elodie Yung; G. I. Joe: Retaliation, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).

Season 2 of Daredevil will also bring in new showrunners Douglas Petrie (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, American Horror Story) and Marco Ramirez (Son’s of Anarchy, Fear The Walking Dead).

As usual, the new episodes of Daredevil will hit Netflix at 12:01 a.m. on March 18. If you have not watched the series yet, now is the time! You can catch up on the first season on Netflix now.

And here is the synopsis for the new season, courtesy of

“Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising in Hell’s Kitchen. Now the Man Without Fear must take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame–Elektra Natchios.

“Bigger problems emerge when Frank Castle, a man looking for vengeance, is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.”
