Comedy Central Renews ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ and ‘Broad City’

Comedy Central has renewed both Inside Amy Schumer and Broad City, the former for a fifth season and the latter for a fourth and fifth season.

Created by Golden Globe nominee Amy Schumer (BoJack Horseman, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World) and Primetime Emmy Award winner Daniel Powell (Ugly Americans, Voltron Force), Inside Amy Schumer is an acclaimed sketch show which, along with last year’s hit film Trainwreck, has placed Schumer on the international stage. Critically lauded, the series has drawn numerous high profile guest stars over its first three seasons, including Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette (Boyhood, CSI: Cyber), three-time Golden Globe nominee Zach Braff (Scrubs, Chicken Little), two-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee Josh Charles (The Good Wife, Dead Poet’s Society), Golden Globe Award winner America Ferrera (Ugly Betty, How to Train Your Dragon 2), five-time Primetime Emmy Award winner Tina Fey (30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Academy Award nominee Paul Giamatti (Straight Outta Compton, The Amazing Spider Man 2), Academy Award nominee Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Independence Day), Primetime Emmy Award winner Bill Hader (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Inside Out), Academy Award nominee John Hawkes (Everest, Deadwood), six-time Primetime Emmy Award winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep, Seinfeld), Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley, The Kings of Summer), five-time Daytime Emmy Award winner Bill Nye (Bill Nye the Science Guy), Golden Globe Award nominee Parker Posey (Superman Returns, Boston Legal), Missi Pyle (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters), two-time Golden Globe nominee Dennis Quaid (The Day After Tomorrow, Vantage Point), Primetime Emmy Award nominee Colin Quinn (Trainwreck, Grown Ups 2), three-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee Rob Schneider (Real Rob, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigalo), Golden Globe Award winner Jerry Seinfeld (Seinfeld, The Bee Movie) and Patrick Warburton (Rules of Engagement, The Emperor’s New Groove).

Of the renewal Schumer said: “We are so excited to get picked up. I’ve gotten picked up many times, but this time feels the best.”

Comedy Central also renewed Broad City for a fourth and a fifth season ahead of its third season, which is set to debut on Wednesday, February 17. The network describes the series as “an odd couple comedy about two best friends navigating their twenties in New York City whose adventures always lead down unexpected and outlandish paths. They’re broke, flawed and don’t shy away from the sticky situations NYC throws at them; they dive right into the muck. But no matter how bad it gets, these young broads are always down with whatever hits them.”

Created by Ilana Glazer (The Night Before, How to Follow Strangers) and Abbi Jacobson (Inside Amy Schumer, Lucas Bros Moving Co) and stars Primetime Emmy Award nominee Hannibal Buress (Neighbours, Daddy’s Home), Arturo Castro (The Good Wife, Sun Belt Express), Paul W. Downs (Betas, Single Siblings), John Gemberling (Marry Me, Super Fun Night) and Chris Gethard (The Office, Big Lake).
