There are usually three kinds of people in the world when it comes to the consumption of water. There are those who do not really care where they get their water from, meaning they do not think twice about drinking from a bottle or their sink, there are those who believe that the water sold in bottles are not good for you at all and refuse to go near the stuff unless it comes from a faucet, and then there are those who think the opposite of those who drink only from bottles, and refuse to drink water unless it comes from a faucet of some kind. Well I have some rather alarming news for those who drink from bottled water exclusively.
Many brands of water bottles were recalled due to there being a chance E.coli being present in the water of these bottles. The major company behind these brands, Niagara bottling, stated that the recall was voluntary because they are certain that the tests that the water goes through would have ruled out any E.coli in the actual bottles, it is just that the source from which they got the water was found to have E.coli in it. The brands that come from this company are known as: Acadia, Acme, Big Y, Best Yet, 7-11, Niagara, Nature’s Place, Pricerite, Superchill, Morning Fresh, Shaws, Shoprite, Western Beef Blue and Wegmans.
I understand that Niagara bottling is confident in their systems, but I wish they would have recalled all of it. It seems that I am always skeptical about companies when they do things, but with E.coli causing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramping, and combined with the fact that people who only drink from the bottled sources will probably drink five or six bottles throughout the day to stay hydrated, and you have got quite the mess on your hands. Regardless of this, I am happy that there is still some kind of recall happening for these brands of water.
