Big Round of Applause for Ariana Grande Please!

A very huge round of applause to Ariane Grande please!

On Sunday afternoon, Ariana posted a letter speaking at length about how women need to stop being linked to men and that women belong to themselves. This is a response to being linked with One Direction’s Niall Horan and being interviewed frequently about her ex-boyfriend, Big Sean, since their breakup.

“What I meant when I said what I said about not being Sean’s ex is that I am tired of living in world where women are mostly referred to as a man’s past, present or future PROPERTY / POSSESSION,” Grande wrote.

As she points out, she does not want to talk about these men in her interviews because she has so much more to talk about. The 21-year-old is quite right. Not only is she on tour promoting her latest album, but she is also deeply involved with her philanthropic efforts which include a youth singing group in South Florida, animal rights and her vegan journey, as well as assisting other celebrities like Miley Cyrus raise awareness for homeless and LGBT youths.

It is obvious that Grande has a lot more to talk about than who she may be seeing. Additionally, she points out how being single has been a good thing for her and that she is happy. I think this is absolutely fantastic! In a world where there is constant pressure to be dating someone or internet blogs detailing the “typical” single lifestyle as always lacking in SOMETHING, it is incredible to have a young woman stand up and say that yes, being single is okay and you can be happy when you are single.

I hope that women around the world pay attention to this letter and really take it to heart. Too many women revolve their lives around becoming a twosome, rather than focusing on themselves.

Ladies, listen to Ariana, we have so much to offer the world. We can do it in a couple, and we can also do it on our own and be happy as a clam.

So from all of us independent ladies, thank you Ariana!
