Adele says Hello to a new record as N’Sync says Bye Bye Bye.
After the release of Adele’s new album, 25, last Friday she has been setting new records left and right. As of this week, it’s official. She broke the record of the most albums sold in a single week.
The record was previously held by North America’s favourite boy band, N’Sync. Their album, No Strings Attached, sold 2.416 million copies in one week back in 2000.
Adele now holds the record after having sold 2.433 million copies of her album in a mere FOUR DAYS!
But the boys aren’t sore about being defeated. In fact, they are being quite gracious about passing the record title over to Adele.
Lance Bass and JC Chasez took to Twitter on Tuesday to comment on her accomplishment.

Well done Adele

Joey Fatone also commented on the record. He told Billboard:
“Records are always meant to be broken, but with technology and current music business model, I thought this one would be tough to beat. In all honesty, Adele is the truth — kinda excited a rare talent like hers is in the same breath as our group. I’m a huge fan….I even bought the damn album.”
Fans have yet to hear Chris Kirkpatrick or Justin Timberlake’s thoughts, but there’s no doubt that they would share the other boys sentiment in congratulating Adele.
